It's that time of year folks

Seems like every year, just before the gathering and just before Spring Council, stress levels increase, tempers let loose (including my own), and the hurt feelings are piling up like cow patties in the meadow.  Levels of trust sink to all time lows, the finger pointing and accusations of impropriety are all over the place, kinda like flies on cow patties.

It's the time of year when I need to remind myself to breath.  Inhale and exhale.  And to remind myself that things are always this way when we're scattered across the continent and around the world and communicating in fits and bits via a multitude of technologies: none of which replace sitting in a circle on the land and sharing from our hearts.

We'll be there soon. So in the mean time, take a walk on the beach, fix the holes in your tent, or give a massage to a friend.

Om Namah Shivaya

  1. I urge all rainbows driving in to pay the $30 for the northwest forest pass. It's a year long pass that will permit you to park anywhere on national forest lands in washington and oregon. This is much less than the parking ticket would be, and is not infringing on our constitutional rights, nor does it mean any type of organization....it's just a good way to garner less attention coming in.

Many Blessings, see you all soon.

Karin, a carpenter's maxim says if you do the job right, nobody notices. So I just wanted to say I notice what a great job you do here, and I dont take it for granted. Well, maybe I do a little bit, like how when my kids were growing up they always took dinner for granted. It never occurred to them that there might not be a dinner, which made me happy that I could always have a dinner for them.

  3. A pass isn't required in the Colville area except for one lake with boat access.
    This per USFS/Colville
    Save your pennies for fuel.

  5. yes, but it would seem to me that gifford pinchot or the forest just north of that is way more likely than colville.
